Seven member committee formed to issue IGST related problems for exporters
In a big breather for city based exporters who are facing the problem of delay in the processing of integrated GST (IGST) refund and other problems related to customs department, a seven member committee comprising of IRS officers of customs commissionerate Ludhiana and city businessmen has been formed which will work on solving these issues.
The committee comprises of department’s joint commissioner Neeraj Soi, assistant commissioner RK Sharma, superintendents Rajan Joshi and Baljit Singh, general secretary of chamber of industrial and commercial undertakings (CICU) Pankaj Sharma, co convener of CICU’s export promotion committee Sarvjit Singh, chapter head of Federation of Indian export organisations
Viney Sharma According to Arvinder Singh Ranga, commissioner of customs, Ludhiana, Recently the exporters fraternity in a meeting had brought to my attention that IGST related issues linger on for a long time and also they are facing problems in the refund process. They had requested for formation of a committee where such issues along with any other co-related problems can be taken up for speedy solution. Therefore we decided to form this seven member committee which will try to solve all their issues related to IGST etc and they will meet regularly for better coordination and speedy redressal of their problems. This is a trade facilitation measure which will help us achieve the goal of ease of doing business for our businessmen
Giving more information about the development, Upkar Singh Ahuja, president of CICU said, We are thankful to the customs commissionerate Ludhiana for accepting our request for formation of this committee. This 7 members joint working group has been formed to resolve the issue related to IGST refund of exporters and other problems being faced by us. This group will hold a weekly meeting in which they will review and evaluate the issues being faced by the exporters and try to resolve these on priority basis. Group will also review the pendency of IGST refunds of exporters, rectification and validation of errors in filing of documents for various purposes, Will also monitor of filing of local export general manifest (EGM) by custodians at sea ports.
